Third league new regional subdivisions confirmed

In order to improve the organization of Macedonian football, the Board of Directors of FFM adopted the proposed new system for regulating the organization and structure of competitions at the national and regional level in senior football. According to the adopted proposal, the territorial division of the Football Federation of Macedonia will be organized into six regions.

The new territorial division has 6 regions, one more than the current format. This is actually going back to the territorial division used in the period from 1994/1995 until 1999/2000.

Region 1 includes the municipalities of:
Aerodrom, Butel, Gazi Baba, Kisela Voda, Gjorche Petrov, Chair, Karposh, Centar, Shuto Orizari, Chucher Sandevo, Arachinovo, Ilinden, Petrovec, Zelenikovo, Sopishte, Studenichani and Saraj.

Region 2 includes the municipalities of:
Lipkovo, Kumanovo, Staro Nagorichane, Rankovce, Kriva Palanka and Kratovo.

Region 3 includes the municipalities of:
Kochani, Makedonska Kamenica, Sveti Nikole, Lozovo, Delchevo, Pehchevo, Berovo, Novo Selo, Bosilovo, Vasilevo, Konche, Strumica, Radovish, Shtip, Karbinci, Cheshinovo-Obleshevo, Zrnovci, Vinica, Valandovo, Gevgelija, Dojran, Bogdanci and Probishtip.

Region 4 includes the municipalities of:
Veles, Gradsko, Negotino, Demir Kapija, Kavadarci, Prilep, Dolneni, Chashka, Rosoman, Krushevo and Krivogashtani.

Region 5 includes the municipalities of:
Bitola, Resen, Ohrid, Struga, Vevchani, Debarca, Kichevo, Plasnica, Makedonski Brod, Mogila, Demir Hisar and Novaci.

Region 6 includes the municipalities of:
Jegunovce, Tearce, Tetovo, Zhelino, Brvenica, Bogovinje, Vrapchishte, Gostivar, Mavrovo & Rostushe, Debar and Centar Zhupa.

The big change is that the current region North has been divided into a group featuring only the municipalities with the Skopje metropolitan area and the rest have been added to a new region (2) that geographically corresponds to the northeast of the country. There used to be a region called Kozjak in the old territorial division used between 1994/1995 and 1999/2000 with the only difference being the Sveti Nikole municipality that back then belonged to this region while now it won’t.

The other change is that Debar moves from Southwest to West, while Kichevo moves in the opposite direction.

Based on these changes, the new season in the third league will look like this:

Keep in mind that the participants for each subdivision are nor confirmed nor final. Each region will decide how will fill its league.
