Macedonia is ranked 93rd in the world for October according to the latest FIFA World Rankings which were released today.  With the defeat in Armenia and the home draw against Slovakia, Macedonia gained one point and moved up one place to #93.

Hristijan Kirovski was on target for Apollon to hand Cedomir Janevski a loss in his debut as Ethnikos Achnas manager, Ilco Naumoski scored his first two goals of the season for Mattersburg, while Stevica Ristić and Suwon lost the domestic cup final in South Korea against Seongnam.

Ilco Naumoski conducted an interesting interview with an Austrian newspaper today where he said him and Goran Pandev are folk heroes in Macedonia and looking back, he would have preferred to represent Austria.

From the eight goals scored by Macedonia in EURO 2012 qualifying, four came from headers following corner kicks, one from a penalty, one with a close range shot following a corner, and only two were scored from the traditional open play.
