After scoring the winning goal for Macedonia against Andorra last month, Mirko Ivanovski wishes at least another goal against Armenia.
Mirko Ivanovski has made 3 appearances for the Macedonian national team so far and has scored one goal – against Andorra in Skopje on the 6th of September.
Now, along with Filip Ivanovski and Ivan Trickovski, he should be the main threat to Armenia’s goal. ‘I expect to play and hope I will convert some of the chances created by the guys in midfield. Football is an unforgiving sport. You can create many chances and not score one goal, or you can only have one chance and decide the match with that. Against Andorra, I scored the winning goal after I missed several chances.’ said Ivanovski for FFM’s official website before adding – ‘I am very sorry that we failed to use our chances against Russia although we had numerous shots on goal. Armenia plays different football than Russia. They play more closed football and are waiting for the chance to counter-attack. They need a win, they will have support from the fans but also pressure to win the game. On the other hand, we will be much more relaxed and we will try our best to show manager Toshack that we can be efficient in attack. I hope we can explode in this match and show that we are a good team. It will be important for our team to be concentrated for all 90 minutes because maybe one chance will decide the game’ – finished Arka Gdynia’s young striker Mirko Ivanovski.
