Mirko Ivanovski scored quick goal

After entering the game in the 55th minute for Arka, Mirko Ivanovski scored a quick goal six minutes later to cement his club’s 2:0 win over Sandecja Nowy Sącz.

This was the final game during the first half of the season in the Polish second division before the long winter break.  As mentioned before, the Arka manager had Ivanovski on the bench to start the game before bringing him on in the 55th minute to replace fellow striker Ensar Arifović.  In the 61st minute, Mirko Ivanovski made it 2:0 when he controlled a pass from his teammate Bartosz Flis, then managed to create some space from his marker, before firing a shot past the visiting keeper.

Ivanovski was active during his 35 minutes on the pitch.  He went down inside the area in the 69th minute but the referee waved play on and did not award a penalty.  Ivanovski then had another good chance in the 74th minute when he combined nicely with one of his teammates but his shot from a good position lacked accuracy and it went wide of the goal.

With today’s 2:0 win, Arka remained in eight place of the Polish second division with 29 points after 20 rounds.  This was the final league game during the first half of the season as Arka’s next game in league play is not until 17 March 2012.  Ivanovski has been playing better as of late but he could be one of the players leaving the club during the January transfer window since he is a free agent at the end of the year and Mirko has had an up and down relationship with the Arka manager Petr Němec.
