Team of the month – December

Team of the month - DecemberAfter reviewing the performances of Macedonian football players over the month of December, we put a list of the best starting 11 during that span.  We compiled stats such as games played, goals, assists, and clean sheets to determine which players deserved to be on the team.

The Macedonian starting 11 for the month of December will be a 3-4-3 formation that includes a couple of under the radar players.  There were numerous higher profile players who were simply not eligible to make the list due to many leagues being on winter break so here are the players that we felt were most deserving to be on the team of the month:

Tome Pacovski
The choice at goalkeeper came down to Tome Pacovski and Edin Nuredinoski.  Tome had three clean sheets in five appearances for Beerschot during the month of December while Nuredinoski had two clean sheets in three caps for his club team so the former was the most deserving candidate.

Daniel Mojsov
There was a lack of options in defense for this month due to either injuries and/or many leagues being on winter break.  However, Daniel did enough to secure a place on the team over his closest competitors.  Mojsov only made two appearances for Vojvodina in December but did have an impressive showing in a 0:2 road victory over Serbian giants Crvena Zvezda.

Boban Grncarov
Boban was an easy choice on the team of the month for December.  He featured in four games for Lierse and provided an assist from the CB position during that stretch.  Grncarov was also member of a Lierse defense that kept clean sheets in two of the four games this month.

Kire Ristevski
The versatile Ristevski took part in five games for Bylis during the past month.  Ristevski has the ability to play LB or CB and has been in fine form to help Bylis occupy the sixth place on the table in Albania.

Dragi Kocev
Kocev played in only one game for Lokomotiv Plovdiv during December but he made the most of it by scoring a hat trick in a easy 4:0 victory during a  Bulgarian Cup game.  Dragi was also helped by the lack of depth at midfield as many of the other players just did not do enough in limited playing time.

Flamur Tahiri
Flamur partook in five games for Teuta in December and was credited with one goal.  Tahiri, a member of the Macedonian U21 national team, has been instrumental for Teuta who have been the biggest surprise in the Albanian league this season by being in first place on the table.

Slavco Georgievski
Georgievski featured in four games for Neftçi and had a solid month with one goal and three assists.  Considering Georgievski is deployed in defensive midfield, those were pretty good numbers for an important player of the current table leaders in Azerbaijan.

Nijaz Lena
Lena played in five games for his club team and scored two goals during December.  Lena is considered one of the key players for Flamurtari as a creative force in midfield.

Goran Pandev
Goran was an easy choice on the team of the month with one goal and three assists in five games during the past month.  Pandev has started to get more comfortable at Napoli and his performances over the past month have been drawing praise from the fans of the Italian club.

Zoran Baldovaliev
Baldovaliev took part in five goals for Najran during December and had three assists.  After a slow start to the season, Zoran has started to play better by setting up goals with good passes.

Ivan Trickovski
Trickovski was another easy choice on the team of the month for December.  Tricko had three goals and one assist in three games for APOEL.  His three goals came in one game when he scored a hat-trick against AEK Larnaca while his assist came in the heated derby against in-city rivals Omonia.
