During today’s derby, Ivan Trickovski and APOEL settled for a goalless draw against Anorthosis.

The match was played today so the APOEL players have enough rest for their next game which is on Tuesday in the Champions League against Porto.  APOEL fielded a 4-4-1-1 formation in today’s game against Anorthosis with Trickovski playing just behind the lone striker Ailton Almeida.  Ivan played all 90 minutes for APOEL and was involved in two quality chances.

First, in the 3rd minute, Trickovski took a free kick from the left which reached his teammate Ailton Almeida whose header struck the crossbar.  Then, in the 80th minute, Trickovski nicely chested down a cross from the right inside the area before turning but his effort was saved by the Anorthosis keeper.

APOEL temporarily moved to first place with today’s goalless draw but they also have two games in hand over both AEL and Omonia.  Those teams are in second and third place respectively and could both overtake APOEL after they play the same number of games.
