Macedonia will be without Aleksandar Trajkovski and Ostoja Stjepanovikj in Scotland, but Dragan Gjorgiev will remain with the squad.
Macedonian national team coach Chedomir Janevski watched yesterday’s game between Scotland and Serbia that ended in a goalless draw. From what he saw, he decided to keep attacker Dragan Gjorgiev who made his senior debut against Croatia. Therefore, although Gjorgiev was originally supposed to join the U21 national team after the Croatia qualifier, he will stay with the senior team, Ekipa reported.
But, another attacker on the senior squad in Aleksandar Trajkovski will be sent to the U21 to help them in tomorrow’s decisive qualifier against Serbia on the road. In addition, midfielder Ostoja Stjepanovikj has been sent back home due to visa problems.
Macedonia faces Scotland on Wednesday in the second round of the 2014 World Cup qualifications.
