Trajkovski adds another goal for Zulte Waregem

Aleksandar Trajkovski converted a spot kick in the Belgian Cup clash verses Anderlecht.

On Wednesday, Zulte Waregem faced Anderlecht in the return leg of their quarter-final match-up in the Belgian Cup. Since Zulte Waregem lost 3:0 in the first leg, their odds of advancing were very slim. Furthermore, the return leg was on the road, making it more of a challenge.

Anderlecht, one of the top sides in Belgiam, raced out to a 4:0 lead on Wednesday (7:0 aggregate at that time) before Zulte Waregem scored two late goals. In the 75th minute, striker Ghislain Gimbert was fouled inside the area, leading to a penalty. Trajkovski took the spot kick and sent his effort past the Anderlecht keeper.

In another Belgian Cup clash on Wednesday, Gent defeated Lokeren 1:0 (also won match-up 5:1 on aggregate). For Gent, young keeper Damjan Shishkovski was among the 20 players called up, but he ultimately didn’t make the 18 men matchday squad. As for Lokeren, Besart Abdurahimi remained out with an injury.

As a reminder, since there were few games from this Monday to Thursday involving Macedonian players, the midweek internationals performances will not be published today. That’s why we just wrote this article about Trajkovski’s goal.
