Recap of cup action in Azerbaijan and Cyprus

Several Macedonian players were involved in domestic cup matches in Azerbaijan and Cyprus with most of the teams advancing to the next round of the competition.

Both Igor Mitreski and Slavco Georgievski played the entire game for Neftçi who collected a slim road victory over Simurq to advance to the next round of the Azerbaijani Cup.  Both Mitreski and Georgievski also received yellow cards with Igor picking up a booking in the 89th minute while Georgievski was shown a yellow card in the 41st minute.  The game was pretty heated as there were a total of nine yellow cards and two red cards between the two teams.

Robert Petrov played all 90 minutes for AZAL who defeated Şahdağ 2:0 to advance to the next round of the domestic cup.  Meanwhile, Nderim Nedzipi came off the bench in the 70th minute for Qarabağ who notched an easy 3:0 victory over Sumqayıt to move on in the competition.

As for the Cypriot Cup, two teams featuring Macedonian players, Enosis and Alki, were in action.  Bojan Markoski played the entire game for Enosis while his teammate Petar Milosevski did not play as Georgi Petkov started at keeper.  Enosis was eliminated from the domestic cup by losing 5:4 on penalties against AE Paphos after the game was tied at 3:3 after 120 minutes.

On the other hand, Alki and Nikola Gligorov defeated Onisilos 4:1 to easily advance to the next round of the competition.  Gligorov started for Alki and played the first 45 minutes before he was substituted at the start of the 2nd half by Carlos Ohene.
