Naumovski benched by Dinamo București

Goalkeeper Kristijan Naumovski was benched by Dinamo București for Friday’s game versus Botoșani.

After starting the past seven games (six in league play and one cup match), Kristijan Naumovski was benched by Romanian club Dinamo București. He conceded 10 goals in that stretch, not a terrible number, but the decision was made to bench Naumovski due to him conceding bad goals in the past two games, both resulting in losses.

So, on Friday, Kristijan found himself on the bench as Dinamo hosted Botoșani. Traian Marc got the starting nod at keeper and responded by holding a clean sheet in the 0:0 draw. Marc will continue starting in the coming games, until he does something worthy of losing his spot.

Kiko Naumovski

Naumovski got a fair shot and Dinamo hoped that he would solidify the position since he is younger than Marc, but his performances ultimately led to the decision to bench him. Kristijan has no one to blame but himself.

This past Monday, Naumovski played the 2nd half in Macedonia’s friendly against Australia. However, we shall see if he receives a call up for the upcoming games with him once again becoming a bench player for his club team.
