Manager Mensur Jakupi has called up 16 players for the Macedonian U19 national team who will play two friendly matches against their counterparts from the Czech Republic.
Macedonia U19 is scheduled to play two preparation matches against Czech Republic U19. The friendlies will both be played in Břeclav, Czech Republic on 7 and 9 August.
Jakupi announced an 16 player squad for the two friendlies. He noted his satisfaction in the fact that all players are ready except for Viktor Taleski of Eintracht Frankfurt who was not given permission to appear in these matches due to club obligations.
Here is the players’ list:
Damjan Shishkovski – Rabotnichki
Deni Iliev – No team listed
Visar Musliu – Gostivar
Gjoko Zajkov – Rabotnichki
Burhan Mustafov – Pelister
Hristijan Denkovski – Rabotnichki
Asmir Ramadanoski – Holstein Kiel, Germany
Boban Nikolov – Academia Hagi, Romania
Darko Velkovski – Rabotnichki
Melvin Abdulai – Stuttgart, Germany
Besar Karimani – Shkendija
Isnik Alimi – Novigrad, Croatia
Lavdrim Skenderi – Renova
Hristijan Velkovski – Winterthur, Switzerland
Viktor Angelov – Rabotnichki
Egzon Bejtulai – Teteks
Melvin Abdulai, who plays his football for Stuttgart U17, Burhan Mustafov of Pelister and Winterthur’s Hristijan Velkovski are the new names on the team. It is strange, however, that only 16 players were called for two friendlies in just three days. Considering these matches are a test before the start of the qualification tournament in Luxembourg in October 2012, Jakupi should have called up more players. However, the manager still holds the right to add more players before the games take place.
