Macedonia remained #103 on FIFA rankings

FIFA rankingsMacedonia kept its #103 ranking on the FIFA rankings after not being in action over the past month.

The FIFA rankings were updated for January with minimal changes since many countries were not in action over the past month.  From Group A of the 2014 World Cup qualifications, Croatia continues to be the highest ranked nation by occupying the 8th position on the list.  Serbia was next in 27th place, Belgium moved up one spot to the 40th position, while Scotland and Wales dropped back one spot apiece to 48th and 49th place, respectively.  The sixth team in the group, Macedonia, remained in 103rd place on the rankings.  All six teams kept the same number of points from the previous month with the minimal changes to Belgium, Scotland, and Wales being caused by results from other nations of different continents.

The lone team without a manager at this moment, Wales, is on the verge of naming Chris Coleman as its new coach.  Coleman would succeed Gary Speed who died in late November of last year.

Macedonia is also the lowest ranked team in the Balkan region.  The closest nations to Macedonia, from the Balkans, on the standings are Bulgaria (#83) and Albania (#77).
