Macedonia finished 2011 in the 103rd position on the FIFA/Coca-Cola rankings, just like in the previous month.
The low position from last month was kept for December as well as Macedonia finds itself in 103rd place with 333 points, the same number as the prior month of November.
In 2011, Macedonia noted only one competitive win – against Andorra on the 6th of September in a EURO 2012 qualifier and also won just one friendly match – against Azerbaijan on the 10th of August. In the other five competitive matches, the Macedonian national team suffered four defeats and only won a point against Slovakia at home while losing to Cameroon and drawing against Albania in the other two friendlies.
This was one of the worst years for Macedonian football when it comes to the FIFA rankings list. According to the calculated points, Macedonia had an average of 252 points in 2008, 215.38 in 2009, 202 in 2010, and only 117.35 in 2011.
