Manager Cedomir Janevski collected his first victory as Ethnikos Achnas manager during today’s 1:0 win over Nea Salamis.
It took three games but Macedonian manager Cedomir Janevski finally collected his first win since taking charge of Ethnikos Achnas. However, neither Macedonian player on the team, Edin Nuredinoski nor Stojan Ignjatov, played for the Cypriot club because of injuries. Nuredinoski was bothered by a knee injury and missed his first game of the season while Ignjatov has been hurt for several weeks and could not recover in time for today’s game.
In the first two games under Janevski, Ethnikos Achnas lost 2:0 against Apollon and then suffered a 3:0 loss against APOEL. For today’s home game against Nea Salamis, Ethnikos Achnas scored the lone goal in the 69th minute by converting a penalty. That proved enough for Ethnikos Achnas to not only win their first game under Janevski, but also to clinch their first win of the season. The team is now second from bottom on the table with only 5 points after eight rounds in the top division.
