Former Macedonian national team player Ilcho Naumoski has joined Vardar a day after the takeover by Sergei Samsonenko was completed.
Vardar has announced the signing of Ilcho Naumoski, the ex national team member. Naumoski was present during Vardar’s training today, the club website reported.
The transfer was completed a day after Russian businessman Sergei Samsonenko took over the club yesterday.
Naumoski is an experienced striker with 46 appearances and 9 goals for the national team. In his career, he was a member of several clubs. His began his career with GAK in Austria where he won the Austrian League and Cup in the 2003/04 season. Lastly, Ilcho had a brief stint with İnter Bakı in Azerbaijan, but he is most notable for his lengthy stay with Mattersburg from 2005 to 2013.
Besides Naumoski, Dimitrija Lazarevski was also seen at Vardar’s training. Lazarevski was rumored to have signed with Shkupi, but that obviously fell through and he will likely remain at Vardar.
Until now, it is known that the Spaniard Jorge Giménez has left Vardar to return to his native country. He will continue his career with Reus Deportiu from the Spanish Segunda Division B, while Aco Stojkov is also looking for an abroad challenge. However, nothing has been decided yet regarding his future.
Filip Ivanovski is also training with Vardar to stay in shape, but he hasn’t officially signed a deal, while one of Vardar’s main transfer targets, Dejan Blazhevski of Horizont Turnovo, seems closer to a move abroad as opposed to staying in Macedonia.
