Jorge Giménez’s farewell message

The lone Spaniard in the Macedonian top division left the country and wrote a farewell message in which he thanked everyone for an adventure that he will never forget.

Jorge Giménez joined Vardar in the summer of 2012 from Lleida and played a total of 41 league games, in which he scored 4 goals. This transfer window, he decided to leave Vardar for a return to Spain with Reus Deportiu. As he left, he shared a message via his official Facebook profile in both Spanish and Macedonian:

He wrote the following, “I put an end to this phase of my sporting life, my first adventure abroad for which I have only good words. For a year-and-a-half it was my home. I felt very loved and appreciated, so the only thing I can do now is thank everyone, all the Vardar fans, my teammates and the coaching staff. As you already know, my next destination is Reus. I will face this new challenge with much desire and hope. I won’t speak long, I am not that kind of lad, I will only add that Vardar, Skopje and Macedonia will always be in my heart. Until the next meeting Skopje! Come on Vardar, go Vardar!”

Not just Vardar fans, but every football fan in Macedonia will remember Jorge, the first Spaniard to ever play in the Macedonian league.
