Boban Grncarov and Lierse lost 1:0 in the first leg of their semi-final matchup against Lokeren in the Belgian Cup.

Lokeren defended its home turf and collected a 1:0 victory over Lierse in the first leg of the Belgian Cup semi-finals.  The only goal of the game was scored in the 56th minute when Lokeren player Jérémy Taravel went up high and sent a header to the back of the net following a free kick.

For Lierse, Macedonian international Boban Grncarov played all 90 minutes at CB.  His club must now find a way to defeat Lokeren in the return leg, scheduled for 7 February, to advance to the Belgian Cup final.  The away goals are very important in these competitions and since Lierse did not score a goal in today’s game, they will have to be careful and look to keep a clean sheet of their own in the return leg while also scoring at least two goals to advance to the final of the domestic cup.
