Vardar announced addition of six players

Vardar has added six playersVardar completed a successful January transfer window by signing six players with the aim to win the league title in Macedonia.

The six players who have officially signed contracts with the table leaders Vardar include Zlatko Tanevski, Ibe Zito Ogbonna, Jovan Kostovski, Filip Kolekjevski, Semir Kerla, and Zan Manovski.

For two players, Zlatko Tanevski and Jovan Kostovski, it marks a return to Vardar since each player used to play for the club earlier in their career.  Filip Kolekjevski is a young player who is familiar to Vardar manager Ilco Gjorgjioski since he coached the player when they were both at Makedonija Gjorce Petrov.  Zan Manovski just turned 19 years old earlier this month and is a member of the Macedonian U19 national team.  Manovski spent the past couple of months with FK Srem from the Serbian second division but did not receive much playing time before Vardar decided to add him to the squad in the latter stages of the January transfer window.

The two foreign players, Ibe Zito Ogbonna and Semir Kerla, were both on trial and showed enough in training to be signed by Vardar.  Ogbonna is a striker from Nigeria who will provide more options in attack while Kerla is a defender who has been capped once by the Bosnian national team.

The six players will be officially presented tomorrow when Vardar holds a press conference.  Then, on 2 February, Vardar travels to Antalya, Turkey to continue their training camp where they will play several friendlies in anticipation for the start of the second half of the season in Macedonia.
