Former youth national team member Dragan Stojkov played against footballing legend Raúl in the United States.
Dragan Stojkov, who turned 27 years old earlier this year, now plays for Indy Eleven in the North American Soccer League (NASL). One of the clubs in that league are the New York Cosmos, a team that features several prominent names, the biggest being Spanish striker Raúl. Marcos Senna, another former member of the Spanish national team, also plays there.
On Saturday, Indy Eleven hosted the New York Cosmos. Stojkov started on the right wing and played all 90 minutes, while Raúl played the opening 74 minutes for New York. The match would finish 1:1, Raúl scoring the equalizer in the 64th minute.
As you can see in the first photo, there was a Macedonian flag at the stadium. The Indy Eleven fans decided to honor their players by bringing flags from each country that is represented on its roster. Since Stojkov comes from Macedonia and plays for them, they also brought a Macedonian flag as well.
