Košice confirmed on its website that Darko Tofiloski would be leaving the club to join French second division side Tours FC.
Darko Tofiloski, who will turn 29 years old next week, has been linked with Tours for several weeks, but his move was finally confirmed by Košice transfer manager Marcel Podolák. He said the following on the club’s official website, “Darko will depart on Monday to Tours with whom he has agreed to a 3 year contract.”
Tofiloski had spent the past four years in Slovakia. He ended up making 127 league appearances for Košice in which he conceded a total of 151 goals.
His new team, Tours FC, competes in the French second division. The club has been looking for a veteran keeper to stabilize the position. All three keepers on Tours are very young (either teenagers or in their early 20’s) and none of them have been able to inspire confidence in the coaching staff. Thus, Tofiloski was recruited with the hopes that he will strengthen the play at keeper. After 18 rounds, Tours currently sits in 18th place out of 20 teams in the league.
