Kojašević is 28-years-old and becomes the third Montenegrin on Vardar’s roster after central defender Nemanja Mijušković and third choice keeper Igor Pavlović. He comes from Mladost Podgorica, the table leaders in Montenegro. Vardar won’t be his first adventure abroad as he has formerly played for clubs in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Poland. While at Kazakh side Astana, he was teammates with Filip Ivanovski and Dimitrija Lazarevski, meaning he will reunited with Ivanovski at Vardar. In his homeland, Damir has suited up for Dečić, Zeta and Budućnost.

Damir is a versatile attacker, although his natural position is on the right wing. A reporter from Montenegro, see tweet above, said that Kojašević can also line up in the #10 role, providing Vardar security once Juan Felipe is not available for whatever reason. Interestingly, his wife is actually from Skopje. Damir gave the following statement upon his introduction by Vardar, “My wife was born in Skopje, so I am glad that destiny has brought me here. I have only heard positive things about Vardar. I know that it is the best all-time Macedonian club and currently tops the table. I hope that we will manage to defend the title and that we will have a successful and long European adventure.”
