Top division side Bregalnica has been fined 2,500 Euros for their fans’ racist behavior towards striker Mohammadou Idrissou.
On March 15 or about two weeks ago, Bregalnica faced Shkendija in their home stadium in Shtip. The match would end how it started, 0:0, but the main story from the game were the incidents involving the fans and Shkendija striker Mohammadou Idrissou. The striker, who is black, faced a hostile crowd who directed insults at him. Furthermore, a banana was thrown in the direction of Idrissou.

So, after the game, the Macedonian federation opened disciplinary proceedings against Bregalnica based on the match report of the fourth referee. After several weeks of discussing punishment, FFM opted to fine Bregalnica 2,500 Euros. However, the fans will be allowed to attend the upcoming home matches. Bregalnica actually hosts Vardar this weekend as the season resumes following the international break.
