This year’s Maso Cup, traditionally taking place in Australia for the clubs with a Macedonian background, has been postponed until next weekend due to heavy rain.
The 2012 Maso Cup was supposed to start today with two games on the schedule but it was postponed due to bad weather and damp grounds in the city of Wollongong.
For the first time, the Maso Cup comes to Wollongong as its being hosted by Wollongong United FC and Cringila Lions FC. It features 12 Australian clubs who compete in various competitions across Australia, all of them with a Macedonian background.
The tournament has been re-scheduled to start on 3 February with two games featuring the host clubs against two other teams from the same city. The defending champion is Rockdale City Suns.
