Yani Urdinov signed 2 year contract with Ekranas

After being on trial with the defending league champions from Lithuania, Yani Urdinov showed enough and signed a 2 year contract with Ekranas.

Yani Urdinov was one of three new signings announced by Ekranas yesterday, just before the start of the new season in Lithuania this weekend.  Urdinov arrived on trial with the club on 2 March and showed enough to be offered a contract which Yani accepted.  Urdinov also played in one friendly on 3 March when he played all 90 minutes in a 1:0 victory over Levadia.

Ekranas views Yani Urdinov as primarily a left-back although he has played CB and in defensive midfield for the Macedonian U21 national team.  Yani was born in Belgium and began his career in the youth system of Mechelen before moving to the Netherlands where he played for Roda from 2009 to 2011 and was teammates with both Aleksandar and Antonio Stankov.  He did not receive much playing time at Roda so Urdinov decided to join Rabotnicki in the summer of 2011 after his transfer to Vardar fell through.  Yani made 8 league appearances for Rabotnicki but was looking to continue his career abroad in the winter transfer window and has now signed with Ekranas.

The defending Lithuanian champions will begin the new season this Sunday when they go on the road to face Sūduva, the third placed team from last year.
