Macedonian women national team started preliminary qualification round with a 1:1 draw against Lithuania.

Macedonia’s opening match of the preliminary qualification round for UEFA Women’s European championship ended with sharing of spoils. Macedonia and Lithuania played 1:1 on the match played in Strumica. Natasa Andonova put Macedonia into lead scoring the opening goal in the 21st minute, but Budryte equalized and set the final score in the 71st minute.

Macedonia played with the following line-up:
Vitanova, Mileska, S. Andonova, Spirovska, Stankovska, Andreevska, Brahimi, N. Andonova, Salihi, Rochi, Georgieva.

Interesting, coach Dobre Dimovski chose not to substitute any player.

The other match of this group ended in a 2:0 won for Luxembourg against Latvia.

Macedonia’s next match is on 5th of March against Luxembourg. Only the group winners progress to the qualifying round, so Macedonia must play for a win against Luxembourg.
