Vardar – Sileks 2:1

Vardar celebrated a 2:1 win against Sileks in a battle of the only two teams who have never been relegated from the Macedonian top division.

Vardar noted three additional points and remained in the race for first place, along with Metalurg, by winning 2:1 against Sileks today. Sileks threatened early in the game, but Vardar managed to open the scoreline thanks to another amazing goal by Milan Ilievski in the 16th minute.  Just several minutes later, Filip Ivanovski doubled the lead with a shot from just outside of the box and 2:0 was the result going into halftime.  Sileks started playing more attacking minded football in the second half, considering they were down 2:0, and their pressure paid off in the 60th minute when Angel Nacev scored directly from a free kick.  This was the first goal that Vardar has conceded this season as they kept clean sheets in the previous five rounds.  However, that was the lone goal by Sileks as Vardar held on for the narrow home victory.
