Vardar and Miravci have officially erased the numbers from their names, indicating when each team was founded.
Although it was rarely used, Vardar and Miravci were officially registered, in the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM), as Vardar 1947 and Miravci 1951 during the concluding first half of the season. However, with the latest information provided by FFM, that will not be the case moving forward. Both Vardar and Miravci have erased the numbers from their club names and will continue to participate in the domestic championship as only Vardar and Miravci. All the footballers who were registered for the clubs will continue to have the right to play in the future. Meanwhile, FFM announced that Zoran Siskovski is no longer Vardar’s president and Ljupco Trpkovski will take his place.
In other news from Vardar, two foreign players on the squad received Macedonian nationalities. Radenko Bojović and Osa Guobadia now hold Macedonian nationality on top of their native Serbian and Nigerian nationalities, respectively. This does not mean that the players will be able to represent Macedonia internationally since FIFA have their own rules, but it means that Vardar can now register Bojović and Osa as domestic players and thus have the ability to sign more foreign players. There are restrictions on the number of foreign players so this can help Vardar add more quality to the squad.
