On the eve of the close of the summer transfer window, Vardar made a splash with the signing of Vlatko Grozdanoski, Antonio Bujchevski and Martin Blazhevski.
Vardar, after the departure of Jovan Kostovski and the recurring injuries to winger Dragan Gjorgiev, has to improve the quality and depth of its attacking department. On Friday, they did just that with the signing of striker Antonio Bujchevski and winger Vlatko Grozdanoski. Vardar also brought in Martin Blazhevski, a member of the Macedonian U21 national team who formerly played for Teteks. Blazhevski becomes the third player that Vardar has signed from Teteks this summer after Miroslav Jovanovski and Filip Despotovski.
Grozdanoski is a familiar name to most Macedonian football fans. Vlatko is just one of eight players, currently, who has won at least 50 caps for the senior national team. Bujchevski, meanwhile, is a 23-year-old CF who comes from the newly promoted side Gorno Lisiche. He will be asked to replace some of the production that was lost after Jovan Kostovski agreed to a transfer with OH Leuven. Vardar only had Edin Ademović at the CF role, and quickly realized they needed added competition for that position.
All three players have been registered with the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM), thus giving them the right to play in Sunday’s game against Metalurg.
