As expected, attacker Aleksandar Trajkovski will spend the rest of the 2013-14 season on loan at Mechelen, becoming teammates with another Macedonian player in Tome Pachovski.
Mechelen confirmed the loan for Trajkovski on their official website. Mechelen is reverting back to a 4-3-3 formation and needed wingers to play in that system. Trajkovski became one of Mechelen’s top targets due to his ability to play on both the right and left wings.
Trajkovski requested a move away from Zulte Waregem after he did not receive much playing time in the early parts of the season. Aleksandar visited Mechelen this past Tuesday where he had talks with the club’s manager Harm van Veldhoven. Trajkovski was pleased about the way van Veldhoven planned on using him, and then both teams quickly reached a loan agreement.
Since the loan was just finalized on Friday, Trajkovski will not be included in the Mechelen squad for Saturday’s league game against Lierse. Instead, Trajkovski should make his debut on 14 September in the match against Anderlecht, after the international break in which Trajkovski was included in the Macedonian squad for the Wales and Scotland qualifiers.
