After Jovan Kostovski, defender Vanche Shikov becomes the second player to be withdrawn from the team due to an injury.
Vanche Shikov has been dealing with a chest injury after he was kneed by another player last month, so he has not been training with the Macedonian squad. On Tuesday morning, Shikov was officially ruled out of the Slovakia game by team doctor Viktor Kamilovski. The doctor said that Shikov experiences a lot of pain and discomfort when involved in duels, so a decision was reached that he could not help on Sunday.
Shikov was one of four central defenders at the camp alongside Daniel Mojsov, Vladimir Dimitrovski and Kire Ristevski. Per the release on FFM’s website, there appears to be no plan for manager Ljubinko Drulović to name a replacement . So, most likely, Mojsov and Dimitrovski will be the center-back pairing versus Slovakia.
