Manager Boban Babunski announced the Macedonian U21 squad for the important qualifier against Northern Ireland on 10 May by calling up 18 players, including his son David Babunski from the youth ranks of Barcelona.
The new names on the list are David Babunski, Stefan Askovski, and Filip Timov. All three of the players have featured for the Macedonian U19 national team in the past but this is their first time to be summoned to the U21 squad. Most of the Macedonian fans will be excited to see David Babunski, an 18-year-old player who plays in the youth ranks of Barcelona. Meanwhile, Askovski and Timov play regularly for their club teams and will provide added depth to the team.
The rest of the 15 players have been regulars for the U21 squad during this qualification campaign. Jasmin Mecinovic is only missing in defense due to an injury.

The U21 national team will gather this upcoming Monday on 7 May and begin preparations for the important qualifier against Northern Ireland, to be played in Kumanovo three days later. After three games in Group 4, Macedonia is in third place with 5 points. The leader in the group is Serbia with 11 points but they have played two more games than Macedonia thus far.
