The Macedonian U19 national team will participate in the 60th edition of the junior international football tournament “Kvarnerska Rivijera 2012” and manager Mensur Jakupi summoned a squad of 20 players for Macedonia U19.
The organizer of the tournament is Croatian club Rijeka. Sixteen teams will participate in the Kvarnerska Rivijera, with four groups of four teams. Macedonia U19 finds itself in Group D where they are joined by Croatian clubs Novigrad and Hajduk Split to go along with Italian side Vicenza.
Each team in a respective group will face one another once and after three games, the top two teams in the four groups will advance to the quarter-finals. The semi-finals and final follow suit with the final scheduled to be played on 3 June. The rules of the tournament are that participating players need to be born on 1 January 1993 or later. However, each team will also be allowed a maximum of three players born in 1992. The matches consist of two halves of 40 minutes each.
For this tournament, the Macedonian U19 manager Mensur Jakupi summoned 20 players, the maximum number that a team can register for any given match.
