Despite leading 2:0, the young Macedonians were defeated at the end by their Romanian counterparts.
Macedonia grabbed the lead thanks to a penalty goal by Petar Petkovski after Pădurariu made a foul in the box. The same player doubled the lead few minutes into the second half with a close-range shot. After ten minutes Romania pulled one back when Manea served Pădurariu who’s header found the back of the net. The hosts made a total come back in the last 12 minutes. First Cicâldău tied the score before Manea made another assist this time for Dulca who scored the game winner two minutes before the end.
Macedonia and Romania will face again on Sunday at 10.00 CET at the same ground.
