Macedonian U17 national team noted a heavy defeat in their second qualification match for EURO 2013.
After the initial draw against Romania, Macedonia U17 lost in the second qualification match for EURO 2013. Ireland celebrated a convincing 4:1 win on the match played today in Skopje. Byrne opened the scoreline with a goal from penalty after keeper Alekovski fouled Stokes in the box. The same player added one more, once again from the spot in the 35th minute. Macedonia lowered Ireland’s lead 4 minutes into the second half when Sulejmanov scored, interestingly, from a penalty kick. Babunski was fouled in the box by Cleary and Macedonia pulled one back. However, Cleary has managed to correct his mistake from 44th minute when he scored a goal for 3:1 after a well-taken corner kick in 63rd minute by Mulraney. Byrne set the final score in the last minute by completing his hat-trick and leaving Macedonia slight chances for advancing in the second round.
Macedonia played the match with the following line-up: Aleksovski; Zajkov (71′ Kostadinov), Krivanjeva, Sulejmanov, Ilievski, Stojkovski, Shakjiri, Babunski, Te. Fidanovski (63′ Murikj), Djeljadini (41′ Georgiev), Nikolovski.
