National team manager Chedomir Janevski has announced the squad for upcoming qualifiers against Croatia and Serbia at home.
Chedomir Janevski has decided to stick with most of the players that were called up for the previous two qualifiers in September. The lone new player on the list is defender Bojan Markoski, a player who Janevski knows well since he was his manager while both were at Enosis Neon Paralimni in Cyprus. Markoski is a tall central defender who is known to be very strong and is nicknamed ‘The Beast’ in Cyprus for his uncompromising style in defense. He was called up once to the Macedonian ‘B’ national team which took part in a friendly, unofficial tournament in Iran. Bojan takes the place of Daniel Mojsov who is currently not playing for Serbian side Vojvodina due to a contract dispute.
Basically, Janevski called up two players at every position, except the keeper position where he summoned three goalkeepers for a total of 23 players. Janevski also decided to add some youth to the squad this time with the return of Stefan Spirovski, the 22-year-old midfielder who originally made his senior national team debut under John Toshack. Vardar’s youngster Dragan Gjorgiev kept his place on the team as Spirovski and Gjorgiev are also the lone domestic based players on the squad. Stefan Ristovski, meanwhile, was also included in the squad after withdrawing from last month’s two qualifiers due to an injury.
