U17 getting ready for qualifiers

The Macedonian U17 national team is getting ready for the start of qualifiers in Group 3 which also includes Turkey, Scotland, and San Marino.

There will be a total of 13 groups for the 2012 UEFA U17 championships which will be held in Slovenia.  The top two youth national teams in each group along with the two third placed teams with the best record will advance to the elite round.

The manager of Macedonia U17 is Goran Petreski, also the manager of Rabotnicki.  Macedonia U17 plays its first game tomorrow against Turkey at 14:00 CET at the Kukus stadium in Turnovo.  The bad news for Petreski is that the best player on the team, 16-year-old Viktor Talevski from German club Eintracht Frankfurt, is out with an injury.  The manager said the injury is a tough blow but the team is well prepared after playing several friendlies and Macedonia U17 will play to win every single game.  Without Talevski, the two highest profile players on the Macedonian U17 team include Darko Velkovski and Dorian Babunski.  Velkovski has seen solid playing time for the first team of Rabotnicki while Dorian Babunski plays for the youth teams of Spanish giants Real Madrid.

On the official website of FFM, Petreski announced the following starting lineup for tomorrow’s match against Turkey: Iliev, Saiti, Trajković, Zajkov, Sulejmani, Demiri, Naumovski, Velkovski, Spirkovski, Avramovski, Babunski.

If anyone is interested in watching the game, the match will be streamed live on the official website of FFM beginning at 14:00 CET.  After Turkey tomorrow, the other two matches for Macedonia U17 are on 26 October against Scotland and 29 October against San Marino.
