FFM said 16-year-old Viktor Talevski was injured and yet Talevski then played the entire game for the Eintracht Frankfurt U17 team yesterday in a match against Mainz.
The manager of the Macedonian U17 national team, Goran Petreski, called Viktor Talevski the best player on Macedonia U17 a couple of days ago but said Viktor was injured and will not play for Macedonia U17. However, the news that Talevski is injured is not true. He started at RB and played the entire game for the U17 team of German club Eintracht Frankfurt during yesterday’s 3:0 win over Mainz. So, how can he be injured and then play for his club team yesterday?
Here are the complete lineups of yesterday’s U17 matchup between Eintracht Frankfurt and Mainz:
Eintracht Frankfurt – FSV Mainz 05 3:0 (1:0)
Eintracht Frankfurt: Schwäbe – Talevski, Meyerhöfer, Barth, Mohr – Marx (75. Glückschalt) – Eren, Stendera, Y. Wolf – Waldschmidt, Michel (75. Korb).
Mainz: P. Schulz – Förstel, Ihrig, Kinsombi, Radau – Kohns (34. Njie) – Pflücke (64. Santos Pedro), Eba Eba, Wachs (64. Stavridis) – Gür, Parker (75. Geisler).
On the website of FFM, it says Talevski withdrew from the squad due to an injury. However, if he was injured, then how was he able to play in the game for Eintracht Frankfurt yesterday? Did the German club ask Macedonia U17 to withdraw him from the squad or what else caused his withdrawal?
EDIT: After making contact with a representative of Talevski, he was unable to train for two weeks with a knee problem. That was bad timing for both him and Macedonia U17 since he was unable to participate in training. The secretary of FFM as well as the manager were told this information to withdraw him from the squad. However, before the Mainz game on 23 October, the Eintracht doctor, a knee specialist, gave Talevski the green light to play in the game. The doctor did not allow Viktor to play for Macedonia because three games in about a week would have been risky for his injury.
