Macedonian manager John Toshack arrives in Macedonia later today and will attend tomorrow’s match between Vardar and Shkendija in Skopje.
John Toshack is scheduled to hold a press conference tomorrow at 11:00 CET at the Aleksandar Palace Hotel in Skopje. He will talk about the last two games of the EURO 2012 qualifications against Armenia and Slovakia. After the press conference, Toshack and his assistant coaches will attend the Vardar vs. Shkendija game to scout some new players and watch the highly anticipated encounter.
From Vardar, Toshack will closely watch Vlatko Grozdanoski who was included in the latest squad and also striker Filip Ivanovski. Macedonia only called up four strikers for the Armenia and Slovakia games and two of those attackers, Agim Ibraimi and Ivan Trickovski, are currently nursing injuries and might be forced to withdraw from the national team. That could lead to Toshack looking at Filip Ivanovski as a possible replacement since Filip has been in good form for Vardar this season.
As for Shkendija, Toshack will continue to watch the development of Ferhan Hasani and also track Mensur Kurtisi. Mensur is another striker that could be a replacement candidate for an injured striker as he has been playing well since signing with Shkendija earlier in the summer. Muhamed Huseini, who was called up by Toshack, will not play for Shkendija because of a red card suspension.
For those interested in watching the game, Sport Efe will be showing the game on their website. The match will start at 13:00 CET. Vardar initially wanted a night game but the police did not allow that due to potential incidents between the fans of the two clubs so the match will start early at 13:00 CET.
