All the four games on the memorial tournament ended on penalties as the host Tikvesh demonstrated best penalty shout skills and eventually won the tournament for the first time in the club’s history.
Tikvesh is the winner of the 14th edition of the memorial tournament Vuko Karov. This year the penalties were the main event on all of the four games as every single one ended as a draw. The opening ceremony involved a speech by Tikvesh president Ilija Trenchev, the president of OFS Kavadarci, Lazar Nanev and the major of the city of Kavadarci, Aleksandar Panov. Than followed the first game between the host Tikvesh and the only team from abroad, Serbian 3rd league side Donji Srem.The hosts were better after penalty shootout and went in the final. The second semi-final involved the Macedonian derby between Vardar and Pelister. The Green&White were leading twice, but Vardar proceeded to the final with a win on penalties.
Penalties were again present on the match for the 3rd place as Pelister this time managed to win, while the Serbian club noted a second penalty defeat. Same story at the final as well as in front of the nearly 2.000 fans the famous penalties had to be taken one more and eventually last time as Tikvesh beat Vardar after the Red&Black didn’t convert the last penalty kick.
