Choi Sung-Kuk move to Rabotnicki falls through

The former South Korean international will not play for Rabotnicki after FFM did not allow the player to be registered.

The Macedonian fans won’t have the chance to watch Choi Sung-Kuk in the First League after all.  Although the 29-year-old winger spent the winter preparations in Antalya (Turkey) with Rabotnicki, he will shortly return to South Korea since his transfer fell through.  Rabotnicki failed to get his documents on time and the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) rejected the late registration.

Surely, with this move, the Macedonian league will lose a valuable and experienced player in Choi Sung-Kuk but Rabotnicki will be the big loser.  Choi Sung-Kuk was viewed as an important reinforcement to help Rabotnicki rebound from a disappointing first half of the season.  The player had featured for the South Korean national team since 2003 until a match fixing scandal last year caused him to be removed from the team.  In the end, Choi Sung-Kuk made 26 appearances and scored two goals with his national team.
