Towards the end of another (unsuccesful) football year for Macedonia, the national team will have a friendly match with the team of Canada.

Macedonian clubs have been very active in the winter preparations so far. In between the trainings, several clubs have played friendly matches and in probably the most interesting one, reigning champions Rabotnicki defeated current leaders Makedonija.

Montenegro – Macedonia 2:1
With another unimpresive performance, the Macedonian national team was defeated on the friendly match away to Montenegro. One mistake by the defence, one mistake by the referee and too many mistakes in the organization and realization of the attacks, cost Macedonia the 60th defeat in the history.

Srečko Katanec, the coach of the Macedonian national team named the squad for the friendly match away to Montenegro. Katanec continued in his style and called up only 18 players with only one new name in the squad.
Group 9 teams friendlies
All 5 teams from the 9th Qualification group for WC 2010 have used 20th of August to play friendlies that will serve as last preparations before the start of the qualification tournament.
Trajanov injured, Macedonia with 16 players
Vanco Trajanov got injured in a car accident while driving to Sofia from where he should have flied to Luxembourg. Katanec decided not to call up any new player, so the national team will be consisted of 16 players for the friendly match against Luxembourg.

Macedonian national team will gather today in Stuttgart, Germany. Some members have already arrived and today most of them should be there.
