The Swedish national team manager, Erik Hamrén, announced the squad for the upcoming friendly match against Macedonia and the later World Cup qualifiers against Austria and the Faroe Islands.
Hamrén called up 23 players among which are currently the best Swedish players. No players are missing due injury. Among the three goalkeepers isn’t David Mitov Nilsson, player of Macedonian origin (his mother is Macedonian) who last time was with the squad in the friendly game against Slovakia at the end of March. The squad features Alexander Kačaniklić who was eligible to play for Macedonia as his father is from Macedonia but he opted to represent Sweden.
