Janevski announced squad for upcoming friendlies

David Babunski will have his debut Chedomir Janevski has announced the squad for the upcoming friendly matches against Sweden and Norway.

Goran Pandev has not been called up due to an injury, but Chedomir Janevski has decided to feature several new names. David Babunski should have his debut for the ‘A’ team, as well as Jasmin Mecinovikj, Darko Glishikj, Marko Pavlovski and Kire Ristevski who was called up for the friendly against Slovenia last year but remained on the bench.

Marko Pavlovski is a player we regularly feature in our ‘Potential internationals performances’ section. Lastly, we have mentioned him three days ago in our article. He is a young central midfielder and it is a positive that Janevski and FFM were able to get him to play for Macedonia in what is a problematic position. Dushan Savikj has also been called up to the squad  after a long period of absence, same with Bajram Fetai.  Muhamed Demiri, a regular in midfield, will miss the two friendlies with an injury.

Meanwhile, two prominent names continue to be excluded from the squad in Goran Popov and Stevica Ristikj.  Both players have refused to apologize after causing turmoil inside the team at the start of the World Cup qualifiers last September.
