Sulejmanov-Seferi will miss 3 months

Sulejmanov-Seferi undergoes surgery

Taulant Sulejmanov-Seferi underwent a successful knee surgery on Wednesday.

With the surgery now out of the way, Taulant Sulejmanov-Seferi will rest for several weeks before he then begins his rehab. Young Boys announced that Taulant will be sidelined for three months, so he will miss the rest of the season in Switzerland. Sulajmanov-Seferi, who joined the Swiss club in the winter transfer window, ended up making 2 league appearances, both coming off the bench. The surgery came about after he complained of pain in his knee. After consultation with the team doctors, it was decided that surgery was the best solution for the player’s future.

Sulejmanov-Seferi will miss 3 months

The three month timeline also means that Sulejmanov-Seferi, a key member of the U21 national team, will likely miss the opening game of the new qualifying cycle. Macedonia U21 plays away to Iceland U21 on June 11, or about two-and-a-half months from now. Only if Taulant is a quick healer would he be able to suit up in that game to open the 2017 U21 qualifications.
