Jeonnam Dragons of K-League Classic announced the signing of Macedonian forward Stevica Ristikj, along with a Croatian player named Sandi Križman.

Ristikj was originally born in Serbia, but decided to represent Macedonia internationally. He has played with Sileks in Macedonia, before making his first move to Asia back in 2007 when he signed with Jeonbuk Hyundai. Since then, he has switched several clubs, playing for Bunyodkor of Uzbekistan, Amkar Perm in Russia, Pohang Steelers and Suwon Bluewings in South Korea before his brief stint with Japanese side Shonan Bellmare.

Stevica will now return to South Korea, where he has experienced the most success, to play for Jeonnam Dragons, a club formerly known as Chunnam Dragons. In the prior season, Jeonnam finished three places above the relegation zone of the K-League Classic, but they had the low mark in goals scored with just 34 goals in 38 matches.  That was one the main reasons they decided to go after Ristikj, a proven player in the South Korean league.

“I come to Jeonnam Dragons and I will give 100% for club and fans, I hope for two good seasons!!! I want to thanks Jeonbuk for bringing me in Korea, Pohang for 2 winning seasons and big thanks for Suwon’s amazing fans!!!” wrote Stevo on his Facebook profile.

Ristikj has made 17 appearances for the Macedonian national team, in which he has scored 1 goal. However, recently he hasn’t been included in the team and it remains to be seen whether Boshko Gjurovski, Macedonia’s new NT manager, will count on Ristikj in the future.
