Donji Srem uncertain of Ashkovski stay

Stefan Ashkovski will return to Partizan  for the winter preparations after his 6 month loan agreement to Donji Srem ceased at the conclusion of the first half of the season.  Partizan will have a decision to make whether to keep Ashkovski on its roster or send him on another loan, either to Donji Srem once again or to another team.  Partizan primarily played with either Vladimir Volkov or Nemanja Petrović at the left-back position, so playing time would be hard to come by for Ashkovski if both of those players were to remain at Partizan during the winter transfer window.  Thus, the most likely scenario is that Partizan will opt to loan Ashkovski for an additional 6 months.

Donji Srem has already informed Partizan that it wants to extent the loan agreement for Ashkovski until the end of the season.  Donji Srem values Ashkovski who made 14 league appearances and scored 2 goals during the first half of the campaign.  One of those goals came against Crvena Zvezda, the heated in-city rival of Partizan.  The only game that Ashkovski missed in league play came as a result of a yellow cards suspension.  Donji Srem, however, finds itself in the relegation zone, so Partizan may want to loan Ashkovski to a more competitive team.  Partizan should decide the next step for Ashkovski over the next month.

The 21-year-old Ashkovski is a regular member of the Macedonian U21 national team where he serves as captain when Stefan Ristovski is unable to play for the U21 team due to obligations with the senior national team.
