Slavco Georgievski signed for Ulsan Hyndai

Slavco Georgievski Macedonian midfielder, Slavco Georgievski, signed for the South Korean football club Ulsan Hyundai. The 28-years-old former national team player signed an one year contract with one of the best South Korean clubs.

Slavco Georgievski previously played for Bulgarian top league team PFK Slavia Sofia from where he moved to Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i. According to daily paper Makedonski Sport, Georgievski had been close to a transfer to the Chinese team Shanghai Shenhua FC, but Slavia’s board accepted the offer from the Koreans as financially richer.Ulsan Hyundai

His new club, know as the Tigers, have been twice champions of the K-League in 1996 and 2005. This season they will also play in the Asian Champions League. Georgievski has some previous experience playing in the Far East as he was part of Chinese club Zhejiang Lücheng FC in 2008.

Georgievski used to be part of Srečko Katanec’s team, but due to problems between the midfielder and Katanec’s assistants he is no longer a national team player.

Along him, in the K-League this season there will be other Macedonians too. Stevica Ristić is at Pohang Steelers FC, Sasa Ognenovski signed for Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma, while Dragan Cadikovski signed for Incheon United FC in January. The K-League2008 season starts on 14th of March.
