A day after signing Yordan Miliev, Shkendija announced another signing on Friday with the arrival of striker Stênio Júnior.
The transfer was tricky since Shkendija had to appease two teams to acquire Stênio Marcos da Fonseca Salazar Júnior. The Brazilian striker spent the first half of the season with Pelister, but half of his rights were still owned by Bulgarian side Litex as he was co-owned.
After scoring 7 goals at the midway point of the season, 4 of them coming in one single game against Metalurg, Shkendija decided to go after the striker from Brazil during the current transfer window. After negotiations that dragged on, an agreement was finally reached with both Litex and Pelister regarding a transfer fee.
Also today, besides making the Stênio Júnior transfer official, Shkendija announced that Goran Maznov has been released. The former Macedonian national team striker became expendable after Shkendija signed four attacking minded players in this current transfer window. Those four players include Stênio Júnior, Demir Imeri, Bojan Vručina and Astrit Fazliu.
The loss of Stênio Júnior is a big blow for Pelister who now has to do without its best striker. Earlier, Marjan Altiparmakovski and Tome Kitanovski also departed the Bitola based club. The hope for Pelister fans is that whatever funds the club received for those three players gets reinvested in new signings.
