Vardar vs. Renova and Rabotnicki vs. Horizont Turnovo will be the two matchups of the semi-finals in the Macedonian Cup.

Rabotnicki has made winning the Macedonian Cup a priority in order to ensure a place in a European competition next season.  The club has struggled in league play this season so winning the domestic cup would seem to be only chance of winning a spot in the Europa League qualifications unless Rabotnicki takes off in the second half.  In today’s draw, Rabotnicki received a favorable result since they will face Horizont Turnovo, a club that is second from bottom on the table.  Both of these clubs have disappointed in league play but have managed to advance all the way to the semi-finals of the Macedonian Cup.

In the other matchup of the semi-finals, Vardar was drawn against Renova.  Vardar has dominated league play this season but Renova has given the table leaders some problems.  The two teams played twice during the first half of the season and both matches ended 0:0.

The first legs of these two matchups will be played on 4 April 2012 at 16:00 CET while the return legs will take place on 2 May, also at 16:00 CET.
