Robert Pevnik has not extended his contract with Rabotnichki, and leaves the club after just six months.
Rabotnichki’s management has decided not to extent Robert Pevnik’s contract. The Slovenian manager took over as Rabotnichki’s manager in January, but was not able to help the club obtain a place in a European competition next season. Rabotnichki struggled in league play, but still had the chance to reach the UEFA Europa League qualification by winning the domestic cup. However, Rabotnichki lost in the final to Renova 3:1 and snapped its streak of seven consecutive seasons of playing in some European competition.
Former manager Goran Petreski takes control of the club once again, until a final decision is reached by management. The popular “Chunga” led Rabotnichki to its most successful season in Europe last season, but could not carry that momentum in the domestic championship. After Petreski left, veteran coach Gjore Jovanovski then took over but he lasted briefly before Rabotnichki turned to Robert Pevnik. Now, though, Petreski is back as manager once again.
